Be Resort Mactan, finally a beach staycation!

Be Cares. The resort highly follows sanitation protocols in light of the pandemic.

A beach staycation at Be Resort Mactan. That was what I badly needed and finally had it! Stylish, well pampered and fully sated. And what’s more, I had all the beach to myself.

I was raring for a good swim at the beach and for more than a year of staying at home during the pandemic, I really had no choice. I was initially planning of just hopping on a bus and taking a ride down south of Cebu for a needed sea, sand and sun but due to some exigencies, it didn’t happen. Until I got a chance to head up to the Punta Engano strip of Mactan Island and stayed overnight at Be Resort Mactan.

Darn. Despite being alone, it was such fulfilling! The beach all to myself. Getting pampered with a stay at a luxurious suite as well as dining in style at Salt Restaurant. It was a weekday, not much guests, by the way, that I just swam and floated and spent time at the beachfront of the resort. It was what I needed the most, something that made the trip to this part of Lapulapu City worth it.

Checking in at Be Resort Mactan was a breeze

Despite the skeletal workforce especially at the front desk, checking in at the resort hotel was fast. The officer-in-charge that time was friendly and accommodating and in no time, I was in my beachfront facing suite affording beautiful views of a sunrise and the Hilutungan Channel.

Because my main objective was just to swim and wind down, the front desk officer was quite helpful too in terms of telling me the beach and pool times, provided beach towels as well as arranged for my meals with Salt Restaurant whenever I was ready to go down and eat.

Sanitation is well observed

Sanitation protocols are also in place and well observed with alcohol dispensers available at the entrance as well as at the lobby and beside elevators. Face masks and alcohol for handwashing were also available at the rooms. Guests, however, were a bit restricted and only registered ones were allowed. This did gave me peace of mind and felt safe and protected during my stay.

Modern resort design for the senses

I do love the overall design of the resort with its hip and modern vibe. The open air lobby is welcoming with its beautiful mural and interesting marine accents. As one steps out of the elevator, a colorful assemblage of sorts greets guests, just like how different sized and colored cabinet parts wowed me. And each floor has its own design!

The suites are luxurious and I love the earth colors, the subdued yet inviting and spacious interiors makes for a pleasant stay. Good thing that I also had great views of the sea that adds to the overall experience. At the beach front, individual pods provide a semi private space wherein one can just enjoy the beach or even bring his laptop or tablet and just chill.

And of course, Salt Restaurant’s interiors are quite lovely and top notch. Very modern yet inviting, perfect for lunch or just having coffee and snacks. The high table at the patio is also great for groups and for those Instagrammable dishes.

Salt Restaurant has delicious food

Of course, what is a beach staycation without good food? Be Resort Mactan’s Salt Restaurant provides delicious dishes and sating food. I did enjoy the hearty pumpkin soup for lunch and egg drop soup for dinner. There was the grilled chicken which was tender and juicy and flavorful as well as a slice of blue marlin on a bed of vegetables. For breakfast, I opted for a standard tocilog, a favorite Filipino breakfast fare with ample servings of the cured meat.

Whenever I dine, there’s always a glass of fruit juice, a small salad and dessert! The turon, sliced banana wrapped in lumpia wrapper and fried with sugar is crunchy and good. The baked blueberry cheesecake was superb and I enjoyed it immensely, especially that I was craving for one for days! Fresh fruits also were served.

I did take note of the humongous burger that I’ve seen in the menu and would definitely go there again just to try it next time I’m there. It’s a bit pricey, at around P600 but if its good and worth it, why not?

Grilled chicken. Delicious. Filling. I love this lunch fare with salad, pumpkin soup, fruit juice and sweet turon desert at Salt Restaurant.
My dinner of pan fried fish with veggies, a plate of salad, mango juice and that very delicious egg drop soup!
Salt Restaurant is the resort’s dining venue. I do love its light and airy interior as well as well designed space, a perfect place to eat or just have coffee.

Be Resort Mactan, a perfect place

Is Be Resort Mactan well worth it? Yes! Despite its location, which is a bit far from my place, almost 30 kilometers to be exact. It’s great for a breather from all these pandemic blues. It’s a great escape to have an alone time or with loved ones at a location that is quiet yet still accessible to public transport. The food is good too and worth the expense. But what I really loved about my stay here was just having the beach all to myself. I didn’t swim at the pool although it was inviting too. But yeah, the beach. And I had a great time.

Alone time at the beach. Would you believe that I was the only one swimming here that time I was there?
