It’s actually a looker. A tall modern architecture highlighted by mostly blue green glass with a white mesh like design on both sides and white concrete on the rest with the familiar horse emblem and its name. Marco Polo is a luxury five star hotel in Davao City that above all offers the traveler the comforts and service that can be considered one of the best in the region. Accordingly, the hotel is known for its excellent brand of hospitality that must be experienced.
For the first time visitor, entering the lobby is a welcome introduction to the unique culture and blend of heritage found in Mindanao and in Davao City. While it doesn’t have the high ceiling lobby compared to other big name hotels, it’s the details that delights.
An attendant wearing beautiful and colorful tribal wear, from one of Davao’s indigenous group is there at the lobby ready to provide assistance. In additiona, a colorful native woven cloth decorates the wall behind the front desk. At the far end, Patricia Abad’s Bukit Tinggi art work awes with its complexity and skill.
Factors that make guests come back again and again? Undoubtebly, the luxurious and comfortable suites and the food coupled with great service. I stayed at the Premier City View Suites which offers one of the best views in Davao. In addition, at the 15th floor, I can view the city at night from the comfort of my room. Then in the morning, the glorious vistas of distant Samal Island is just as memorable. For those who wants a resort feel, their cabana inspired suites are a good alternative.
Marco Polo Davao is a culinary destination
Food wise? Marco Polo Davao is a foodie destination! At Polo Bistro they got the best ciabatta that I’ve tasted and a sumptuous chicken rice with abalone sauce at the Lotus Court. For mornings, Cafe Marco has a good breakfast buffet selection which many Davaoenos acknowledge as the best in Davao City.
The Deck at the fourth level has additional services and amenities. Firstly, Lazuli is a professionally managed spa. A gym is here too. Beside Polo Bistro is the pool lounge that similarly at night gives a good view of the building. Function rooms are also found at the lower floors for those conferences and meetings.
For this reason, Marco Polo is one of the best places to stay and enjoy this part of Mindanao, a luxury five star hotel in Davao City.
This trip made possible by Marco Polo Davao during a fam tour in that southern city. Like their Facebook page and follow them in Twitter.
