Ang Langyaw will be having a free lecture at the AIM and will talk about Travel Photography.
Blog and Soul Sessions resumes this Saturday, July 2 at the Meralco Case Room of the Asian Institute of Management. This session is about words and pictures: Yahoo!Philippines Editor Erwin Oliva will discuss writing and blogging, while multi-awarded blogger and photographer Estan Cabigas shares some tips for taking spectacular travel photos.
Freelance photographer and travel blogger Estan Cabigas shows how to do travel photography and the following sub genres: Portrait, Landscape, Food, Festivals, and Architecture, which are often encountered when on the road. This is especially helpful for the travel blogger who wish to improve their photography. Although this is purely a classroom discussion, the practical tips, insights and processes coupled with stunning images that he has taken over the years make this free talk well worth it.
Estan is an awarded travel blogger and has been principal photographer of two coffeetable books on Philippine heritage church architecture. He has written and contributed images in both online and print publications including CNN Go, National Geographic Magazine and Geo. Focusing on travel, documentary, sports and architecture, his personal works have been exhibited locally and abroad and was one of 15 ASEAN photographers featured in the New Southeast Asian Contemporary Photography section of the inaugural International Orange Photography Festival in China.
He teaches photography in DLSU Manila and conducts travel photography workshop in UPFI.
Erwin started his writing career in medical journalism and worked his way to writing about information and communications technology. He is one of the first Filipino journalists who tried his hand at blogging. He has worked as a reporter and editor for Inquirer.net. He’s currently the country editor for Yahoo!Philippines.
Registration opens at 1:30pm. Session is from 2:00pm – 5:00pm.
