Where to stay in Cebu for comfort and affordability

I love staycations. Even if I’m just in Metro Manila or back in the home province, my Cebu. I won’t mind staying at a hotel sometimes even if I have a place to stay in both cities. Staycations are always welcome as these afford me to rest, recharge and just do nothing after all those tiring travels and wherever work takes me. And staying at Quest Hotel Cebu for two nights was one of those well deserved staycations that I am always looking forward to.

Quest Hotel & Conference Center in Cebu is the first Philippine branch of the three stars Quest Hotel franchise from Indonesia and is locally managed by Chroma, under Filinvest Hotels and Resorts. What I like about this hotel is that it has a great location as it’s just right across Ayala Center Mall where you can shop for local and international brands as well as the presence of diverse dining options. It’s centrally located if doing business around the city but even in itself, it’s a good business destination for meetings and conferences. All at an affordable price and utmost comfort!

But I don’t feel the need to go out, unless I need to shop. Food wise, Puso, the main restaurant offers good food either ala carte or buffet at a reasonable price. I think they are the only restaurant in Cebu that offers flavored puso, the popular so called hanging rice. They even serve a good tasting lechon during the Sunday lunch buffet and you should not miss the luxury cheesecake!

There’s also a gym and if you want to hit the waters, there are two pools, one for adults and a shallower one for children. The pool bar serves good bar chow but if you want to sing your hearts out with friends, you can rent one of the conference rooms and convert it into a videoke room. The margaritas are recommended but I would not skip the mini burgers, the barbecued meat platter as well as the chicken quesadillas!
