Cagayan

I traveled for 25 days in October 2012

October was another busy month traveling around the country and abroad. If statistics have to be considered, I was out of Makati City for the past 25 days!

    Short but beautiful Bagsang Falls

The waterfalls is just beautiful, located within a forest. One can even sit behind the cascade, a rare thing in most waterfall and the pool is just thigh deep. Perfect for children. The water is also good as a hydro massage.

Cool Mabnang Falls in Claveria, Cagayan

A beautiful cascade, Mabnang Falls is just located a couple of kilometers from Claveria town center, near the border with Sta. Praxedes, the last town before Ilocos Norte. A small waterfall, the barangay is building a pool directly infront where the water will fall.

        Pansit Batil Patung

Pansit batil patung: sumptuous, filling and one of a kind

The northern city of Tuguegarao in Cagayan province is not only famous for the adventure, natural and heritage destinations that tourists and travellers come for but, for the first time visitor, one’s curiosity is immediately piqued when almost all eateries, from hole in the wall joints to carinderias and restaurants are offering pansit batil patung (or patong).

Scenic Taggat Lagoon in Claveria, Cagayan

One great thing about exploring the country’s many provinces is that there is always a reason to stop, gawk and be awed. This can be pristine beaches, spectacular rock formations or just scenic vistas. Taggat Bay, more like a lagoon, actually, in Claveria, Cagayan is one.

Personal thoughts on my Calayan sojourn

I admit, places I’ve visited in Calayan: Cibang and Caniwara Coves and Nagudungan were the most pristine I’ve seen and been to. Its just so beautiful, a piece of paradise. But will it stay the same for years to come?
