Ah, Pasko. And what’s better to start it than with the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony at the Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort. Guest of Honor Mayor Ahong Chan of Lapulapu City turned on the ceremonial switch that lighted the Puno ng Pagasa last Saturday. With the mayor’s family, friends from media, some other guests and Bluewater officers Domiku Ugarte, VP Rhyz Buac and staff, it was one intimate and meaningful event that kicked off the festive season.
I’m familiar with the Bluewater resort group, having been invited to stay at both their properties in Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort (Oslob, Cebu) and Bluewater Panglao Beach Resort (Bohol). These resorts are one of the best in the country known for its great leisure experience, tropical moderne design and of course, good food and run by a homegrown hospitality company.
Last Saturday’s tree lighting at the Bluewater Maribago was no different. Puno ng Pagasa, literally, Tree of Hope, aptly symbolizes the festive season in this trying times. It’s uniquely Filipino in design and craftsmanship. This also symbolizes strength and steadfastness. In Cebuano, it can also be Puno sa Paglaum, literally, full of hope!
It was not only Bluewater Maribago that kicked off Christmas at the resort. The two other Bluewater properties in Oslob and Bohol also had their ceremonial switch on via Zoom. Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat gave her speech too.
By the way, you might want to stay at Bluewater Maribago and experience Cebuano hospitality at its best. They are currently offering special and enticing rates. Check their Facebook page.
