The Rooms by Alinace @ Mango is a new budget hotel in Cebu City. As of now, it has 10 standard double rooms, three family rooms and two rooms with 8 bunk beds all located at the second floor of a three floor building. The third floor isn’t yet open. Because it is new, the rooms and amenities are still good and aircon units are functioning well.
The rooms
I stayed at a standard room with queen bed (PHP1250 for walk in but as I booked this with Agoda, it cost me PHP1367, only knowing about this when I was at the front desk already). A PHP500 deposit is asked which is returned upon presentation of the receipt upon check out. The room I got was rather cramped. As in the foot of the bed overlaps the drawer under the flat screen TV. The pillows and bed are comfortable with the latter wide enough for two. The towel is soft and fast absorbent while the toilet has a bidet and the bath has a rain shower head. Basic toiletries are provided but no complementary bottled water. Surprisingly, wifi is fast. Just look at the speedtest results I included below.
Location
This budget hotel in Cebu City is within the Caltex gasoline station premises. Meaning, when you step out of the door, the gas station is just a few steps away. A 711 convenience store is also just beside the hotel entrance. Perpendicular to this is Burger King. The Rooms is just near Robinsons Place and Robinsons Cybergate, both malls, with the latter smaller. It’s just walking distance to Fuente Osmena, various fastfood restaurants, banks, pharmacies and a church and hospital. Open air local eateries/streetfood are also nearby. Public transport is just right up a few steps away too. The MyBus terminal at BDO, right across Fuente Osmena provides free transport to SM Seaside as of now.
Why book this budget hotel in Cebu City?
The Rooms is great for those looking to stay at a new no frills hotel which is clean, has comfortable beds and fast wifi. The bunk beds at the dorm type rooms (PHP650), a great value for a hotel at a good location.

This is the exact same roomi got when I decided to have a self study for my board exam. I was kinda okay with the drawer at the foot of the bed served as my table; but yes, it was rather cramped.
