Cebu Hotel Plus, affordable and new hotel in Cebu City

Facade of Cebu Plus Hotel

Cebu Hotel Plus is the newest and affordable hotel in Cebu City that opened just last September 2017. It has ten floors with 50 cozy rooms. Location wise, its at a quiet street near the Cebu Provincial Capitol but still within walking distance to malls, good cafes and restaurants, a few minutes to Fuente Osmena and quite connected with Cebu City’s public transport system that it is convenient to go around the city be it major malls and tourist/heritage areas. For two nights, we were able to try this hotel and some of the food. And I do recommend this one as its a good fit for its affordability, comfort, especially if you go around exploring the city the whole day, and the food is good too.

The rooms

There are three types of rooms: Luxe, where we stayed, Luxe Plus, a bigger room with two beds, and the Executive, 2 spacious rooms with a living and dining area and two toilets. Although different in size, they have the same customized yet comfortable beds and for the first two, working tables. Each room has a either a city side or mountainside view, of which, the latter is better as there are less obstructions to give you sweeping vistas.

I love the Luxe room that was assigned to us. Although smaller in space, I like the minimalist but cozy touch. The color palette is soothing and welcoming. The bed and pillows are quite comfortable too that we stayed most of the time during the two night stay. During staycations like this, I usually catch up with my blogging or photo editing works or just laze around and watch cable TV, preferring Discovery Channel, History Channel and NatGeo. There’s hot and cold water plus the basic toiletries. For the Executive room, the living area has a sofa bed, especially useful if you are more than two persons. The table can also be a working area or good for intimate in room dining.

When we got hungry, we just walked to a barbecue place that is just within a few meters from the hotel for dinner. When we bought some snacks, it was just a block from Robinsons Cybergate. But there are a lot of restaurants, catering from budget to mid priced food surrounding this hotel in Cebu City.

Food

The cafe/restaurant is located at the second level of the hotel with a well designed contemporary interior. A few tables are also located near the elevator with a view of the lobby below with those globular chandeliers and outside.

If you availed of breakfast, you can have it at the second level cafe/restaurant or have it delivered to your room for a small delivery fee. Like hotels at this category, you have, as of this writing, six plated options ranging from a hearty omellete, crispy tuna flakes, pancakes, sausages, corned beef and longanisa. These meals come with rice (garlic or steamed), a choice of coffee, juice or tea and slices of tomatoes and cucumber. I do like the fact that the servings are way better and bigger than the others.

Being a cafe/restaurant, they also serve food and coffee, as well as sandwiches and drinks. The lemongrass iced tea was good with the right amount of sweetness, as it is refreshing. The tuna sandwich is also good, plated well. I tried the tamarind chicken wings, one of their Asian fusion offer and the chicken wings are really crispy outside, and tender and juicy inside. The tamarind sauce, however, might need some taming of its sourness.

Lobby and more

What I love about this hotel in Cebu City is the spacious lobby that greets guests. It has ample seating with modern furniture. It is cavernous, with a high ceiling reaching the second level. It’s bright during the day and amply lighted during the night. Those round and modern chandeliers add not only brightness but another modern touch of the overall design.

Cebu Hotel Plus also offers catered conference rooms. The biggest consists of two combined rooms that seats several. It can be a venue for small gatherings, like an intimate wedding reception (they will soon offer wedding packages), or a medium sized workshop. Even meetings if you use just one room. At the top most floor though, you have a 180 degree view of the surrounding area!

Will I recommend this hotel? Absolutely yes! It’s new, its well designed and I like its aesthetics and in a great location. Its affordable and they are still on promo pricing now, a good time to try this hotel in Cebu City. The food is sating and delicious too. And best of all, the staff are friendly and accommodating and always there to serve you when you need them.
