If you’re a frequent traveler, hotel accommodation expenses really eat up much of the budget. For a traveler like me, I really don’t want to stay in dorm type rooms in hostels. I prefer the solitude I can have of staying alone in the room. That’s why when I travel especially abroad, I have a host of apps in my smartphone to check the cheapest rate. One time, during transit travel in Kuala Lumpur, where I just need to stay for a few hours and have near access to KL Sentral so that I can take the first trip to KLIA2 via KLIA Ekspres, I wasn’t able to make advance booking and was already desperate to find a cheaper room. The HotelQuickly app gave me the best rate, compared to the other apps. That’s why, I booked a room at Hotel Sentral, at a discounted rate.

HotelQuickly is a last minute booking app wherever you might be as it offers hotel rooms in several cities across several countries. The concept behind this app is this: in a bid for hotels to book rooms, they can drop rates at the last minute and it is this that HotelQuickly is capitalizing. But the app is more than just booking discounted rooms, it makes booking fast and easy and with its loyalty program, you can get more discounts. The more you book via the app, the higher the discount rate. Share your code via social media or let people sign up with your unique code and the credits you earn can be used for additional discounts!
The hotels presented in the app are also vouched by HotelQuickly, meaning, they have actually visited and stayed at the property. The built in map will help you give an idea of the locations of the hotel and the good photos are a guide on what to expect how the hotel and its rooms look like.
In the case of Hotel Sentral, I like the location which is just across NU Sentral Mall, where KL Sentral is just walking distance. It’s clean and cozy, although the single bed is smaller than I expected. I requested for a double bed but at the time I booked, it wasn’t available. The hotel is also near eateries, even 24 hour ones as well as convenience stores. And of course, fast free wifi. The front desk may ask for a RM50 deposit which is returned during check out. I’ve used Hotel Quickly twice, in fact, it was still in Kuala Lumpur that I booked my second hotel via the app. The same reason, it gave me a better rate compared with the others.
How about you? have you used HotelQuickly before? Or use another app?
