Restful sleep and more at Pillows Hotel in Cebu

Pillows Hotel is a 44 room business hotel in Cebu City owned by the Henson Family and opened September 2014. It was where their ancestral house used to stand. Located at a quiet street near the Fuente Osmena, the grand roundabout at the uptown area. The Cebu Capitol, a lovely heritage building is just walking distance. A mall, the popular Larsians, various night spots, two hospitals and several medical clinics and restaurants are just a stone’s throw away and is a good base when in the province as transportation is readily available from taxis to jeepneys.

The hotel has a lovely and contemporary facade that makes it readily identifiable from the other drab buildings beside it. The lobby is quite small and direct, the dining area, equal in size as the lobby but decorated playfully. But once you get to your assigned room and you’ll be amazed at how spacious it is.

The rooms are done in minimalist style with toned down colors. One thing that Pillows Hotel readily assure you is restful sleep and this can be attested to what you will find in the room. First and foremost, the pillows. It’s fluffy but not stuffy and is supplied by a local company. It’s made from 100% polyester microfiber which is a down alternative. As such, it is hypoallergenic, soft and plush.

Second, the bed is also comfortable with good back support. Third, all rooms have black out curtains, meaning, you can totally shut out outside light if you’re that kind of sleeper who prefers sleeping that way. Fourth, built at a side street, you’re away from vehicular noise. As an added feature, the hotel is handicap friendly, all the way down to the toilets with iron bar supports and since it’s near hospitals and clinics, a good hotel to base in.

Rooms have a semi furnished kitchen space but please don’t expect to whip up dishes with the available setup. Breakfasts are included and you can have it delivered (with a small delivery charge) or eat at the small dining area at the ground floor. Choices are breakfast staples but not the usual small portions that you find in other establishments. If you’re craving for food other than breakfast, their baby back ribs is highly recommended but affordable (just around P200+). I just love the tenderness of the meat and it’s well marinated. They have good and sating pastas as well as interesting juice drinks.

Will I stay here again? YES! I love the comfort that this hotel offers, a price range that is quiet affordable at a good location that is near everything but in a quite area.
