That’s how Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH.COM) describe its member hotels and their description of Discovery Shores. But its one thing to read it from an authority in luxe stays. Experiencing what the resort really offer is still the best. And one thing that I found out during my stay there?

Discovery Shores in Boracay Island is perhaps one of the best out there. It’s location is ideal: away from most of the touristy crowds especially in Station 2, it has a wide white sand beach with sand that is particularly powdery, the architecture is contemporary modern, sleek yet minimalist and takes advantage of its unique location with great landscaped gardens, well appointed suites…

I really like the way the resort is laid out: just a few steps from the lobby is White Beach with several lounging chairs and parasols. The dining area and bar is also within a few meters that while eating or drinking at the bar, you still have a good view of the sea. The food is tops too with their signature Filipino dishes at Sands and set dinners at Indigo. The private spaces are located at the inner section providing privacy.

But what really makes the difference in this beautiful resort are the people. It’s really Filipino hospitality at its best, shining, and making your stay a memorable one, just like what I had. The attention to detail, the genuine smile. And the endless good food that is available at the restaurant or those little munchies, continually filled in your room!
