How to check in faster at the airport

I hate long lines especially at Terminal 3 when checking in for my Cebu Pacific flight. And sometimes, in provincial airports, the queue can be long. Good thing that the airline has a self service kiosk which proves very useful. Located in major airports around the country and for those whose flights are not the ATR (propeller type, wherein your body weight is considered), you can check in faster than the rest!

All you need is the record locator of your booking. It’s the six digit alphanumeric combination usually found at the top of your booking. Just so simple:

Step 1: Input your record locator number
Step 2: Confirm once your name appears
Step 3: If you decide to select a seat other than the one displayed, just click on the seat number. A new window will appear with a view of the plane’s seats. Select desired unselected seat.
Step 4: Confirm check in.
Step 5: Get the boarding pass printed out.

It just takes a minute to check in without the hassle. If you have luggage, you need to go to the bag drop counter. If none, you can proceed to your boarding gate.

Restrictions:

Passengers who can’t use the self service kiosk:

1) Unaccompanied minor
2) Guest of 10 or more under 1 booking record
3) Guests on ATR and/or non-direct flights.

Passengers who need to get the boarding pass at the counter for verification and others:

1) Expectant mothers
2) Guests with infants
3) Guests with reduced mobility or requiring special assistance

Important: You can only check in via self service kiosk 4 hours to 1 hour before departure. If its already less than an hour, the system will advice you to head to check in counter.

Based on experience, what I don’t like is that there is no pure bag drop counter especially in Terminal 3. If you have luggage, you will have to queue with others who are also checking in via the counter. It defeats the purpose of the kiosk.
