The smell of wild orange kalamundin, the spa’s signature scent, filled the space as I entered the massage room of Crimson Resort’s Aum Spa. The citrusy smell was inviting and relaxed me as the masseuse told me to sit down. My feet were then rubbed and washed with a combination of rock salt and eucalyptus oil and water strewn with petals of different colors. Thus, was the start of my spa ritual.
Aum Spa, housed separate from the main Crimson Resort buidling but just a minute walk or cart ride from the main entrance is a beautiful structure that houses the resort’s spa and relaxation facilities. The lobby is inviting with its high ceiling, water pools and design with no less than Kenneth Cobonpue’s work.
Going over the spa menu, I opted to have the Aum Signature Massage which was designed to ease the symptoms of modern, hectic lifestyle… that uses a combination of Swedish, Esalen and Lomi-lomi massage strokes, a perfect way to relax.
I liked the oils used: ylang-ylang for relaxing, eucalyptus to rejuvenate and rosemary to uplift. The masseuse was also skillful and adroit with experienced hands that kneaded and pressed my muscles that I easily fell asleep. If I really liked how I was massaged, I doze off.
The spa isn’t only for massages with its six single rooms and 2 couple rooms, all indoors and more outdoor massage rooms like cabanas that are all private. There is a beautiful pool and a steam room. The spa also accepts walk in clients and day use is available, especially for the pools.
Relaxing goes a higher level at Aum Spa. You should try it.
