Sumptuous paella valenciana, fabadas, pescado en salsa verde, sopa de mariscos… I could enumerate the rest of the delectable spanish dishes that I enjoyed at Cafe Marco but it would be better if you try, see and taste it for yourself.

Like the previous culinary journeys that I’ve featured, Cafe Marco this month focuses on select Spanish dishes for the next ten days (until May 3) for Sabores de Espana. What’s more, in support of Madrid Fusion that is currently happening in Makati City, Cafe Marco has its own Calle Tapas offering a variety of tapas, from boquerones to tortillas, to croquetas.

I really enjoyed the paella, with its rich and flavorful rice that has been infused with seafood and oh, so garlicky chorizo. You can’t go wrong with this dish. The sopa de mariscos was also hearty and filling while I loved the herby taste of the pescado en salsa verde.

I enjoyed the tapas. Although I was almost full, I still had space for a few more. I smiled and savored the delicious prosciutto wrapped around finger slices of melon which reminded me of the delicious treat that a friend served me in Terrassa, Catalonia, Spain. The crab tartlets were also good.

And lastly, had a few of tarta de santiago (with almonds). The crema catalana, akin to creme brulee was also good and highly recommended. Do cap your lunch or dinner with a glass of mango sangria.
