How to beat the summer heat in Butterbean

At Butterbean, you can make your own ice cream bar in just four easy steps

Whenever you’re in Cebu, beat the heat in Butterbean.

What started out as a kiosk selling cookies at Ayala Center Cebu (it’s still there at the second level opposite the elevator), has now a beautiful, well lighted and well designed interior stand alone dessert cafe along Escario Extension. But it’s not only cookies they are selling but different kinds of desserts, coolers, pasta and sandwiches. You can even create your own ice cream bar!

It’s just so easy in four steps:

Choose your bar (from twirly, heart shaped or a happy face)
Choose your chocolate coating (white, milk or dark)
Choose any three toppings (sprinkles, mallows, chopped nuts, and more)
Choose your drizzle (white, milk or dark chocolate syrup)

And that’s it! It’s the perfect way to beat the summer heat and costs you as little as P65 for the petite, vanilla flavor or P110 for a bar flavored other than vanilla.

But wait, other than the ice cream bar, you really have to try their lasagna! It’s flavorful, and delicious that it’s one of the cafe’s best seller. You can also try their brewed coffee and select the chocolate spoons (white, milk and dark) to go with it. Just let it melt inside the cup.

Another thing that I really loved so much are the plump, red and sweet imported strawberries dipped in chocolate that I consumed three of these. It’s that perfect pairing of flavors, sweet and semi-sweet with a hint of sourness.

There’s still lots of cool offerings at Butterbean that you have to discover for yourself, especially that it’s so hot this summer, it’s the perfect excuse to hie off and treat yourself.
