I rather eat Quest Hotel’s food than sing at the videoke

Although I was a base 2 singer in the choir when I was in high school and college, it didn’t give me much confidence to sing in videokes. Although I hum around or sing on my own while one is belting out loud during sessions, I would rather not hold the microphone, unless alcohol has started to make its presence felt. But who can argue with good food?

Quest Hotel and Conference Center actually has a plush videoke room, one of their conference rooms can actually be converted for intimate parties and these singing sessions complete with good food. And when we travel bloggers who were there for a staycation, videoke was actually one of the activities we had.

I would not argue with these bloggers. They are born singers. Hehehe. But despite refusing the mic, I actually had a good time, of course, it was all about the bar chow and drinks. We started out with margarita’s, some just had plain coke. Soon enough, the orders came in: buttery popcorn, hot and salted, french fries, barbecue platter, mini beef burgers, chicken quesadillas, sisig and wings. We had to cancel the pizza as we ordered too many and the lady bloggers were not eating much.

But I can’t let it pass, to say that indeed, Quest Hotel serves good food. It’s not enough to have the ala carte menu or buffet downstairs but you’ve got to try the bar food! The mini beef burgers were sublime. Good tender beef patty, flavorful, layered with crisp bacon and cheese in between buns. So good that I had more than I wanted! Add in the blue cheese dip intended for the sticks of cucumber and carrots that were served with the chicken wings and I was in burger heaven. Love that hint of blue cheese, that bacon crispiness. Add the beef tender strips and I had a memorable night at the videoke. Even if I didn’t sing with mic on hand.
