Greek Island Gems

If you’re looking for Greece holidays this summer, you’re in for a diverse treat that ranges from lively party towns and big nights out to quiet backwater retreats and traditional Greek surroundings. The only problem? All that choice is bound to make your holiday-hunting decision quite a difficult one!

The best place to start is with a tour operator like Thomas Cook. Take a look at their Greece holidays and you’ll see that they offer a wide choice of destinations and resorts in the Greek islands, and plenty of different types of holidays too.

Here are a few of the most popular islands and resorts depending on your preferred style of getaway:

Clubbing

Greece holidays offer a world of choice for today’s clubbers and party animals. Whether you’re after a fun-filled week away with friends or a chance to let your hair down with your significant other, Greece holidays are happy to oblige. Perhaps one of the best-known is Faliraki in Rhodes – it’s a party veteran that has been attracting clubbers to its bar-packed streets and neon-lit alleys for years, and it continues to do so today. Other notable spots include Kardamena in Kos, Malia in Crete, Corfu’s resort of Kavos and Laganas in Zante.

Family Holidays

For families, the Greek islands really do have it all. From quiet escapes to non-stop fun in the sun, Greece holidays serve up a fantastic choice of well-equipped resorts, local activities and excellent family hotels. In Corfu, try the quiet resort of Aghios Ioannis, or head to St. George South for lashings of golden sand and a gently shelving bay. Opt for Crete and the family fun hotels in Rethymnon and Hersonissos, which offers a slightly livelier experience. Or take things slow in lovely, heritage-rich Thassos.

Quiet Escapes

For romantic retreats, the Greek islands have plenty of soul-stirring places just waiting to be discovered. Head to beautiful Skopelos for a lovely Greek refuge that has remained mostly untouched by tourism. Try the beautiful old fishing villages of Pythagorion and Ireon in Samos, or choose the laid-back villages of pretty little Paxos.

Whichever Grecian gem tickles your fancy, you’re certainly in for a treat…
