Great family time at Universal Studios Japan this festive season

Theme parks are actually fun! Yes, I’ve been to some here in the Philippines and abroad but the degree of enjoyment that I actually experienced was way beyond my expectations when, for the first time, I visited Universal Studios Japan in Osaka! Of course, we visited Hogwarts and tried the heartstopping 4K3D ride, been to the Amazing Adventures of Spider Man and rode the nerve wracking, but super fun Flying Dinosaurs! Who wouldn’t love this place when you can actually be a child again?

Well those are the standard attractions and rides. But especially that this is the festive season, CHRISTMAS time, Universal Studios Japan has many things in store for the family, be it becoming a wizard casting spells for kids and adults alike, spectacular shows both day and night, amazing specials and great food that can only be experienced at this time of the year!

Christmas at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Hogsmeade is especially aglow this time as the village is in the festive mood. Warm lights and Christmas decor adorn each and every building and with a few strokes of your wand, you can cast Locomotor and Lumos spells at the Christmas Tree. It’s also at this time that the village’s popular brew, butterbeer is available hot, a great way to warm off. If you and your family are feeling hungry, have a hefty serving of the Christmas Feast, a sumptuous tray of roast chicken, Cipolla sausage, roast potatoes, green peas, carrots, Brussels sprouts, cranberry sauce, gravy and garden salads. Yum!

Universal Studios Japan Christmas 2016

Other than the Christmas offerings at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Universal Studios Japan’s other attractions have something for the family as well.

For daytime entertainment, mothers and their children can have a great time with a special show celebrating the 15th year of Universal Studios Japan with its Happy Surprise show. Santa and The Minions will definitely be here as well to spread the Holiday cheer and make wishes come true as a whole cast sing and dance for that memorable family entertainment.

Yes, Universal Studios Japan has been here for the past 15 years and there’s an interesting parade around the theme park grounds that will definitely be a great daytime highlight. Best thing about this? It’s a foam party as guests break out from the roadside to where the floats and dancers are and just have a fun time dancing and singing with Universal Studios Japan’s ReboooRN Parade.

But nothing beats the finale. Universal Studios Japan has its legendary Christmas Tree, awarded the Guiness Book of World Records distinction of having 534,280 lights, the biggest there is, on an artificial tree. But what makes this memorable is that this will be the final appearance of the tree and the Joy of Lights, with the Gift of Angels III show which then leads to the tree lighting, is perhaps one of the most spectacular shows there is. It’s full of lights, color, drama (you’ll be amazed at the production) with fireworks and culminates with that beautiful lighting, the best Christmas Tree lights I’ve seen. And it’s really a giant tree bedecked with all those colors and moving light.

This will surely be a memorable Christmas trip for the family.
