Cruising in Singapore and Malaysia

Super Star Virgo docking at Port Klang in Malaysia's Selangor state

Airphil Express and Star Cruises invited us bloggers for a familiarization cruise tour from Singapore to Malaysia aboard the latter’s Super Star Virgo, a full service cruise ship. It was a lot different experience, another different way of traveling. And it was good. There’s a whole lot to cruising as a different travel option than I thought it would be. Friends told me that they don’t usually do this as it is only for the oldies. But after experiencing one, upon the invitation of the Philippines’s fastest growing budget airline, AirPhil Express and cruise leader Star Cruises, I say, I changed my mind. Its another beautiful way to enjoy traveling.

It’s not your usual boring boat ride as there are several entertainment options on board. What’s more, there are land tours available. In our case, we went around Kuala Lumpur and visited several sites there. And for food? There’s always a restaurant open and you can even eat six times a day for free. There are set meals or buffets, whatever you like.

Perhaps, what makes this trip good is that one can get to enjoy two beautiful cities/countries. The food, cultures and traditions found in Singapore and Malaysia is just so irresistible. Both have one of the well organized and developed tourism program that its not difficult to go from one place to another. Transportation and information about tourism related activities and sites are not that difficult.

  1. yes i also think that a cruise is not just for the elderly, the retiring, or newlyweds. there’s always something to do and to be anywhere, including inside a cruise ship. the only thing I’m adamant about such tours is the prevalence of missing guests — those who probably figured in theft on board. but if you’re always looking out for yourself if you’re alone, then there’s so much to enjoy aboard.

  2. Sounds exciting and romantic! I’m curious how much one would spend to go on a cruise. Looking forward to your next entries!
