This is part of my Semana Santa series where I feature rituals and traditions observed in certain places during this solemn week in the Catholic calendar. Click on the image at the right to check the rest of the articles.

I’ve labored all day yesterday, selecting and edting images, preparing the text and then layouting to come up with this one. Langyaw #04 focuses on the Semana Santa in Lucban which I documented in 2006. This one showcases 60 images with many never seen before.

This also includes a separate article on the Santo Señor Sepulcro, the Pabasa, Domingo de ramos and the important days of Holy Week till Easter Sunday.

The images were done during the weeklong Holy Week starting with the dressing of the Señor a day before Palm Sunday and all through the wet and fun Easter Sunday. The latest issue of Langyaw, a free downloadable PDF photo e-magazine

I’m pleased to offer the latest downloadable PDF photo e-magazine of Langyaw!

I was invited by Nenette Graf as part of media to cover the 22nd Boracay International Funboard Cup, having written about it in CNN Go last year. In this issue, entitled Riding the Wind in Boracay, I’ve focused on the kiteboarding and windsurfing activity in this island which has been ongoing for the past two decades. I covered the 22nd edition last January 2011 which is also my first time even though I’ve written about it in CNN Go last year.

Issue #03 has 24 pages with text based from the previous post, and of course, around 30 images, stunning and beautiful photography that I’ve taken. What I did was to not only show race images but also portraits, behind the scenes, spectators as well as the place.

The new issue of Langyaw as a downloadable PDF e-magazine

The town of Cuyo, a remote municipality of Palawan, between this province and Panay Island, north of the Sulu Sea has always been a mystery to me. In 2006, I was able to visit this beautiful place for a few days as part of a heritage church book project.

This new downloadable photo PDF is my second e-magazine following last year’s issue #01 and focuses on this far flung town. From everyday objects to the massive fortress-church. From fishermen early in the morning to a lazy afternoon with some children playing. Or an amble within the quaint town.

This is my entry to the 2nd Pinoy Travel Bloggers’s Blog Carnival with the theme “Quaint towns in the Philippines” currently hosted by RV.

Summer is here and it’s vacation time for must of us Filipinos. Beaches, trips out of town, Batanes, Sagada… Sometimes, we’re just hardpressed on what to do during this hot and humid months.

Following my two part post on 10 things to do this summer, this downloadable PDF version, an e-magazine, if you like to call it, is now available.

I’ve always thought of making an e-magazine version of select themes or posts of this blog and, while I’m not sure if this can be called as such, this might be a start in that direction. Preparing this was exciting and I have labored nights for the last few days, selecting and post processing images, edited the text as well as layout using Adobe InDesign CS3.

Some Q & A:

Is this download different from the two part posts? No, it’s just the same list but I’ve used additional images that you would want to see. I’ve also edited some parts of the text to make it more readable and concise. What’s more, as this is a downloadable PDF file, you can browse it offline or carry it with you.

Why is this free? Is there a catch? Well, I want to distribute it to as many people as possible, even those who are not subscribed to my blogs. No, there’s no catch. Just click on the link below and download away.

Can readers distribute it too other than downloading it here? Yes, of course. The more people who can benefit from this, the better and I do encourage readers who have downloaded this one to send it to their friends and family. Or they can also link to this post in their blog.
